ABOUT KIMBERLY

Kimberly Bentley is a fiber artist and educator whose work explores color and narrative through rug making. She is especially drawn to traditional craft materials that verge on kitsch, infusing her creations with both playfulness and depth.

She holds an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and a BA from the University of Maine, where she currently lectures.

Kimberly has been awarded several grants and fellowships. She received support from the Betterment Fund for Museum Education and Outreach at the Colby College Museum of Art, where she was an Education Fellow for three years. She also held the Education Fellowship at Bates College Museum of Art, where she presented at the NEMA conference at Yale, “Museums Without Walls” . Additionally, she received the Osher Library Fellowship from the University of Southern Maine.

Her work was recently exhibited at the Camp Gallery in Miami, Florida.
